Inadequate Investment in Diabetes Services Hampers Fight Against Growing Epidemic

The New York State Health Foundation's Diabetes Policy Center released a new report showing that the State's ability to contain the growing diabetes crisis is hampered by inadequate reimbursement and investment in proven services to prevent and treat diabetes.

Jointly conducted with the Center for Health Workforce Studies, the study examined the certified diabetes educator (CDE) workforce in New York, and illustrated that they are in short supply and unable to serve New Yorkers with the greatest burden of the disease.
