Diabetes costs New York State an estimated $12.9 billion annually.
Nurses
Nurses play a unique role as health care professionals and members of primary care teams. Nurses provide critical clinical expertise, work closely with physicians and other team members to coordinate care for patients, engage patients in diabetes self-management, and bring a holistic approach to patient care. The Diabetes Campaign will support nurses and the practices in which they work across the State to help them achieve positive outcomes for patients with diabetes.
